🌿Studio Manager / Lead Floral Designer (Freelance/Contract)

Hourly rate based on experience
Freelance; Seasonal; Weekend Availability; Mid-town Toronto Studio
May–October, Thursday to Saturday – occasionally Sunday; ~6+ hour shifts
Looking for a long-term.

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
– Lead creative direction and design process for weddings and editorials
– Conduct client consultations and build floral proposals
– Create recipes, manage flower orders, and liaise with wholesalers
– Supervise and execute wedding day installations (arches, chuppahs, floral ceilings, etc.)
– Mentor and manage Intermediate and Junior Designers
– Coordinate studio workflow, timelines, and scheduling
– Maintain floral quality control and studio organization
– Support vendor communications and timeline confirmations
– Assist with setup, teardown, and studio clean-up
– Must be physically capable of loading/unloading and working outdoors

Requirements:
– 7+ years of experience in the wedding or event floral industry
– Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
– Design sensibility aligned with Philia’s brand
– Confident in managing a team and resolving on-site challenges
– Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion
– Calm under pressure, with a strong and steady mindset
– Valid G license and access to own vehicle is a must

🌿Intermediate Floral Designer (Freelance/Contract)

Hourly rate based on experience
Freelance; Seasonal; Weekend Availability; Mid-town Toronto Studio
May–October, Wednesday to Saturday – occasionally Sunday; ~6+ hour shifts
A valid G license is an asset.

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
– Confidently set up on-site floral installations (arches, pillars, altar, etc.)
– Execute wearable florals (crowns, boutonnieres, wristlets, etc.)
– Create centerpieces, bouquets, and altar arrangements based on floral recipes
– Prepare vases, candles, mechanics, and props for setup
– Monitor flower inventory and manage workflow independently or in a team
– Use ladders and assist with overhead/hanging installations
– Assist with vehicle loading/unloading and studio cleanup
– Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for long hours

Requirements:
– 3–5 years experience in wedding/event floral design
– Ability to take creative direction and work independently
– Attention to detail and time management skills
– Must have reliable transportation

🌿Junior Floral Designer (Freelance/Contract)

$18.00 per hour
Freelance; Seasonal; Weekend Availability; Mid-town Toronto Studio
May–October, Wednesday to Saturday – occasionally Sunday; ~6+ hour shifts

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Role Responsibilities:
– Conditioning and processing flowers
– Organizing floral deliveries
– Cleaning and maintaining the studio and work areas
– Prepping vessels, props, candles, and floral mechanics
– Assisting with setup and teardown of wedding floral installations
– Helping prepare greens and containers during wedding prep
– Supporting lead florists as needed
– Must be comfortable working outdoors and able to lift/move supplies
– Strong organizational skills are a MUST!

– Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
– Respond to client emails in a professional, timely, and brand-aligned voice
– Schedule and manage meetings using Google Calendar, and build floral proposals
– Maintain digital files, proposals, and shared documents
– Support with production schedules
– Format and update pricing sheets, proposals, and admin documents
– Coordinate timelines and assist in vendor follow-ups

Requirements:
– Strong written communication skills
– Proficient with Gmail, Canva, Google Calendar, Adobe programs
– Detail-oriented, independent, and consistent in delivery
